Café E.S.Kimo sits quietly on R. do Regedor in Macao’s old city district, offering a casual spot where the neighborhood’s local rhythm feels most tangible. This cafe blends Taiwanese and Macanese flavors in an unpretentious setting that appeals especially to those looking for an easy lunch or an affordable meal with friends.

The atmosphere here leans into a straightforward, mom-and-pop vibe rather than anything glossy or high-end. Tables fill steadily on weekends with families and workers from nearby offices, making it a place that feels like part of everyday life rather than a destination for special occasions.

The menu is notable for its mix of classic Macanese dishes alongside Taiwanese-styled offerings. Several visitors find dishes like 三杯雞飯 (Three Cup Chicken Rice), pork buns, and the unique coffee milk tea worth trying. For those who appreciate a slightly spicy touch, the 辣味涼拌黃瓜 (spicy cucumber salad) adds a refreshing kick. Meals typically come as set menus including a drink, which keeps lunch practical and wallet-friendly — expect to spend around 40-50 MOP per person.

Ordering is streamlined through QR codes on the table, reflecting the local move toward convenient digital menus, though some guests note service can be a bit slow during busy periods. Seating is indoors and basic, without much in the way of design flair, emphasizing function over form and making it better suited for casual meets than lingering afternoons.

Given its location just behind Taipa downtown, Café E.S.Kimo offers a laid-back alternative to the more crowded or tourist-heavy dining places nearby. It’s an approachable spot for those curious about local and Taiwanese flavors without the fuss, and it fits naturally into the flow of the old city’s daily life.

Overall, if you want a simple, no-frills meal packed with local character and don’t mind a modest dining environment, Café E.S.Kimo fits comfortably into a day spent exploring Macao’s more authentic, less flashy corners.

Affordable place to dine with friends. Price range $$. Near to Taipa downtown and just behind there are more more options including McDonalds.

Classic Macanese food, with a large assorted menu. You order by scanning a QR code available on the table. Service was a bit slow, but was delicious. Around 40-50mop per person, with set meals that include a drink. Lots of locals will come on the weekend with their families, as well as workers.

It has a mom and pop no thrills feel to it. Definitely not glamorous dining but the food was delicious and worth every penny
